Hmm not sure about the booting problem since it gets that far. There's another virtualization program called VirtualBox that's open-source and maintained by Sun/Oracle. Here (http://www.virtualbox.org/)is the link. It's free. Works the same way as the others, except it's not as integrated.

The next Mac Mini should be fine for that. If as hoped it gets a Sandy Bridge processor it'll make the MacBook Air look terribly slow in comparison for CPU intensive tasks, especially if you put a SSD in the Mini.
As for EyeTV, the current Mini isn't as powerful as many of us would like, but I find it to be adequate. Hopefully the refresh will correct this and allow smooth playing of live sport in HDTV using progressive scan.
I have EyeTV and two 2009 Minis and see no problems other than the motion problem inherent in 1080i video. Changing computers won't fix that problem.

Wondering if anyone has found the side bar icons and system folders, etc in Lion. In /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources I found png's for sidebar icons in sizes 16/18/32 (most likely small/medium/large?). I replaced them with custom color icons I created as I hate the grey sidebar icons but it didn't seem to take (I was able to replace a lot of the system icons manually).
Any idea's?

I haven't pre-ordered, but at this point do you think it will make any difference. I plan on heading to the Apple store at 6:00 am or so.
I reserved mine and I still plan on getting to the Apple store about 5-6am on Fri. :)

I am thinking of buying a 1Tb iMac 2011 i7. I don't want to waste money on the 2Tb one.
However, I may need more space in the future, I was seeing this hard-drive dock thing when I was browsing newegg, I never use one before, which one works best with iMac? Is there a thunderbolt one? Thanks.:)

Hey Guys,
For sale is my backup 8GB iPhone. It is currently unlocked for use with any GSM carrier. As you can see from the pics, it has a crack up top and a small one on the bottom right corner. This is purely cosmetic and has no affect on the phone whatsoever. Touch sensitivity works fine anywhere on the screen as well as the phone feature/speakers. This iPhone is perfectly functioning!
Take a look at the pics and ask any questions in the thread!
I am taking offers!

I have been working on a magazine for this whole week (Quark Xpress v6) and finally got it signed off yesterday. Shut down the computer and had a well earned drink.
When I turned on the computer this morning the document has reverted back to last Tuesday! (meaning a lot of lost work).
Would this have anything to do with changing permissions? (I did play around with file info on some other files.)
I have 15 other jobs going and they all seem to be fine.
I have dual 80gb hard drives - and yes, after every big lot of changes I backed up the job - but the backup drive says the same!! Anyone with any help would be greatly appreciated.

My brother-in-law pre-ordered online for he and his sister. We are going to the store around 4pm Friday (after work, travel, etc..). If the phones are there, they're there. If they're not, they're not. I'm on the fence of whether or not I want to go with the 3Gs, but the two of them are dead set on it. i am more interested in checking out the new MBAs while I am there, and quizzing the staff to see if any of them have a clue about the 1.5G/s SATA issue on the MBPs :D

Quicken from Intuit and FileMaker Pro are the ones that I use most often. Really hate to admit this but Entourage that comes with Office 2004 has been very stable.

It seems that every winter the Graphic's Labs in the Art building are very cold, especially with G5's. And in the Summer the room is uncomfortably hot.
But that is nothing compared to the fact that the photography darkroom is right above the G5 lab and a few years ago there was a leak from the pips. So, some genius decided to use some pipes and just divert the flow to the outside. You can still see the pipes used. Also, there is a very high pitched, ear ringing, sound emitted from the giant machinery hanging from the ceiling. At times even headphones can't block the noise.

I need an ATI PCI Video card that'll work with my PowerMac G3 B&W. I'm currently using an old PCI card from my old PowerMac 9600 so if I could replace it in time for christmas (I'm giving the computer away as a gift to my Grandma) then that would be fantastic.
I see some going on eBay so if I can't find one here I'll purchase one on there. I can pay via PayPal, or if you really want maybe we can trade somehting. Thanks! :)
I have a hadware modded (replaced with 128K ROM) radeon 7000 64MB card. I should have it on one of my old G3s. For 50$ + 5$(priority mail shipping?)

I dont understand this hate for QuickTime X. Its designed for video 'playback'. Just like VLC or any other media player.
QUickTime 7 has never been good for me. I tried to export a widescreen video to MPEG4 and it came out as horizontally compressed 4:3.

You mind as well suggest he gets a 42" LCD TV as your suggestion obviously has nothing to do with what he was looking for.
..anyway
I personally would pick the classic simply because I love having the capacity to hold most of my collection without having to pick and choose.
If you..
- want a smaller player
- need FM radio
- want a (poor) video camera
- have a tendency to drop things (since it is flash based it can take beatings better than the classic can)
- have a small enough collection or can easily pick what you want and don't want.
- You don't plan on expanding your collection much.
Go with the 5th Gen Nano
If you..
- want superior battery life
- want superior capacity
- hard drive fragility isn't a issue for you
- interested in holding video (16GB nano isn't going to do much for holding video)
- don't mind the larger form factor (some prefer it, fits much more comfortably in hand for me in comparison to the nano)

It's okay, I understand what you mean :)
My mac's a 14" iBook that's been upgraded to 1 GB of RAM and 80 GB HD. I use Airport (so I experience the delayed connection that you've got post-wake) and there's nothing hooked up with Bluetooth.
I'm so confused as to where this problem could be originating...

It's colour, so it's complicated and could be due to any one of a number of issues.
Here's something to try.
[1] Open Save for Web and Devices.
[2] Click on the triangle above the settings pane. Choose convert to sRGB
[3] Click on the triangle above the preview pane. Choose Use Document Colour Profile.
The second step is to preview the colour accurately.
