I got the e-mail that card prodn. is ordered. Not sure if i'll get one year or 2 years EAD renewal now. I filed in Nebraska center. I called USCIS and asked them but they are not sure either.. I hate to miss out of 2 yr EAD just 'cos it got approved today but not Monday. Is there any way to appeal for a 2 yr EAD ????
Just got �Card Production Ordered� LUD for EAD for both myself and my wife. Wish it could have happened on the next working day, which is Monday - June 30th, we could have got 2 year EAD, unlucky!!!

i was reading http://www.immigration-law.com/Canada.html just now,
and I know that each year only 140000 green card is allocated for EB category.
I have several question regarding this number/quota:
1. Does that number (140000) include the spouse/all dependents of applicant ? or just the main applicant ?
2. I keep hearing of this 7% cap for each country, what does that mean ?
does that mean each country only have maximum of 9800 (7% * 140000) green card each year ?? or is it depend on the number of citizen of the country (for example citizen in India is bigger than Japan, so India will get bigger quota)

You also have to apply for Photo GC which will only be mailed in Canada and someone have to fed ex it to U in US else you will have problem getting back to Canada in future.

Prior to attending US University X (January 2001 to April 2004), where I got my bachelors degree from, I attended US University Y for a semester (August 2000 to December 2000). I have my I-20 from University X, but I don't have the I-20 form from University Y. Is that going to be a problem in the I-485 stage even though I attended University Y 7 years ago and only for one semester? If yes, can my University Y F1 visa on my passport and/or transcripts act as a substitute for the I-20 form?

I am on 9th Year H1 extension and my H1 will expire in end of September 2009.My Labor got approved in 2007 So, I filed I140 and I-485 concurrently. But My I-140 got denied which filed with concurrent then Lawyer appealed as Motion to Reopen the I-140 which got denied and lawyer filed another I-140 as a brand new.

This is an answer to Ron Hira types of folks who complain H1b visas are complimenting offshore work. So the answer to Ron Hira is - B1 visa will compliment the offshoring and not h1b.
For consulting companies - As long as they can easily transport people back and forth - whatever visa - they don't care.
This is good news for fresh h1b seekers because h1b visas will be freed up for you to come here and immigrate into the US system.
There will be a challenge to Mom and Pop body shops - As they cannot offshore and rely on h1b visa holders for a living - Durbin and Grassley amendments will pose restrictions on H1b visa consulting and these small shops will face a challenge in future.
If any of you work for these shops and want a GC - get ur EAD ASAP. I am sure changes are coming - This proves that Uncle SAM is always watching.

It takes average 3 - 6 months for I-140 to get approved(I got it in 40 days), but like lot of other people i am stuck with retrogression :(

Excellent. I am new in this cage..but I am proud to be here. I will definetly donate generously for 4 core for future lobbying. Also I would think..we need 2 avoid anti-immigration media such as CNN etc. I saw WSJ, Business Week, CNBC(Brian William news at 6.30), CNBC Maria, Washington post, New york time and some other local news paper helping us with covergae on this issue. We shouldn't be helping Lou dobb's kind of guys to boost his ratings. I decided to stay away from that chap!! and CNN. The reason you did not get an approval with I-94 is that it seems your current status is valid only till May and I am not sure if your attorney included the documents (I-20) mentioning that you will be enrolled in Kaplan from June - Oct......USCIS wont approve a H1 with I-94 if you do not show evidence that you have valid status till Oct 1st.....
